NEED TO KNOW

  • Jennifer Holland says she has no updates on her Peacemaker character Harcourt’s future in the DC Universe
  • Holland is staying physically prepared to reprise her role, though, and says she loves being part of the DC Universe

Jennifer Holland isn’t letting her guard down when it comes to returning as Emilia Harcourt.

While speaking with PEOPLE at Milk-Bone’s partnership celebration with Supergirl on Thursday, June 25, the actress, 38, said she has no inside information about where fans will see her Peacemaker character next in DC Studios’ growing universe.

However, Holland is making sure she’s ready if the call comes. “I mean, I could see Harcourt in there. I could definitely see that happening,” she says.

Harcourt has become one of the DC Universe’s most recognizable supporting characters since she first debuted as the no-nonsense A.R.G.U.S. agent in 2021’s The Suicide Squad. She reprised the role as one of the central members of the covert Task Force X team in HBO Max’s Peacemaker, in which Harcourt evolved from a stoic field operative into one of Christopher Smith’s closest allies.

Though Peacemaker hasn’t had a season 3 confirmed after its second season concluded in October 2025, Holland hasn’t ruled out another appearance as Harcourt in the DC Universe.

“Obviously, I don’t know,” she says. “I know as much as everyone else knows about where we’re gonna see Harcourt again.”

Despite not knowing what’s next for the fan-favorite agent, Holland says she’s staying physically prepared for another mission.

“I am keeping my arms as toned as possible in the off time, just in case,” she adds with a laugh. “So that they’re ready for me. I mean, I can’t wait to play Harcourt again.”

“I just love being a part of the universe,” she says. “It’s an amazing thing to see, how many people are so touched by the things that they make, because they’ve been reading these comics their whole life, and they love these characters. Of course, you don’t make everyone happy, but you do make so many people really happy because they get to see the live-action version of this thing that they’ve been attached to for their whole lives. It’s such a cool thing to be a part of.”

The actress attended the Milk-Bone Supergirl event without her own dogs, who are currently in Atlanta while her husband, DC Studios co-CEO and director James Gunn, films his Superman sequel.

“I would have loved to bring them,” Holland says. “They live in Atlanta right now, unfortunately, because that’s where James is filming Man of Tomorrow.”

Holland says she’s especially eager to reunite with Ozu, the real-life pet who served as the inspiration for Krypto in both 2025’s Superman and Supergirl, which released in theaters on June 26.

“Our dog, Ozu, is the physical reference for Krypto,” she says. “The ear that sticks up. He’s got an ear that sticks up all the time.”

Holland continues, “He was a pretty bad boy when he first got him. So all the stuff where you see Krypto, like, biting Superman’s ankles, that’s an actual video reference that James got of our dog fighting our ankles as we’re walking. He used to just think they were little toys on the ground. He didn’t understand they were attached to our legs. It was very annoying but also cute.”

Peacemaker is streaming on HBO Max. Supergirl is in theaters now.
