Lynda Carter was easily the best dressed woman, nay, person on television the ‘70s. Whether she was fighting crime on Wonder Woman or walking the red carpet at the Emmys she always looked stunning. This Emmys look is simple yet chic and it doesn’t have to do any work to remind the viewer that Lynda Carter is a force to be reckoned with. So how does Carter manage to look so effortlessly beautiful? She avoids the sun. In 2016 she told W Magazine:
[My mother] was so ahead of her time. She said, ‘Do not go out in the sun. If you do, you’ll end up like a prune or an old leather purse.’ At the time, there was no sun protection, so she’d wear hats and put cream on her face. And she used to give herself a facial with egg whites. She had no wrinkles on her face, and her hands were always soft.
Jacob Shelton is a Los Angeles based writer. For some reason this was the most difficult thing he’s written all day, and here’s the kicker – his girlfriend wrote the funny part of that last sentence. As for the rest of the bio? That’s pure Jacob, baby. He’s obsessed with the ways in which singular, transgressive acts have shaped the broader strokes of history, and he believes in alternate dimensions, which means that he’s great at a dinner party. When he’s not writing about culture, pop or otherwise, he’s adding to his found photograph collection and eavesdropping on strangers in public.
