When the cold chills of winter arrive, we can often be left wondering when our next encounter with some hot, sunny rays will be. All we can do is look ahead to the upcoming year and start to plan some adventures.
If it’s beach destinations you are after in 2019, travel company Flight Network have just released their list of The World’s 50 Best Beaches.
Each beach has been rated in terms of untouched beauty, remoteness, sand and water quality, annual days of sunshine and average annual temperature.
The list includes white sand, stunning mountains, clear waters and idyllic paradises, but unfortunately none of our UK stretches of beach were name-checked. Although seven did make the best European beaches shortlist: Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway, Whiterocks in Ulster and Dublin’s Silver Strand; Three Cliffs in Wales; Cornwall’s Porthcurno; Durness Beach in Scotland and Sussex’s Birling Gap.
