Do you have ANY idea what the premise of judo is? It’s called leverage. It’s about dominating people that are much larger than you with very little effort. It was designed for the samurai to throw other samurai. Samurai armor was very heavy, so they had to use leverage to throw other samurai to the ground and slice their throats with a wakazashi. And they were Japanese, who are typically a small people. Oh, right, and did I mention that Ronda has been doing this her ENTIRE life?
Julia Budd was ripped to shreds and seemingly better conditioned than Strikeforce’s Ronda Rousey (4-0 MMA, 2-0 SF). You see how that fight ended? Ronda came in, got her grip, went for a single, switched to the ogoshi, then swept her with an ouchi-gari. That took all of 4 (maybe 5) seconds. No one can keep up with her grappling. It took almost no effort. Leverage is much more important than strength … and she is a master of leverage.
Of course, with current Strikeforce 145-pound champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos (11-1 MMA, 5-0 SF) being a Hulk, maybe that leverage augment of mine is a complete wash.
The fight lasted 16 seconds. It must have been ring rust.
